Trust Applies for CNG Planning and Research Grant

The Chicago Infrastructure Trust has applied for a State Planning and Research (SPR) grant totaling $350K, related to its proposed Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative.  The funds are provided by the Federal Government and allocated by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

The grant would reimburse 80% of the cost associated with developing a CNG initiative plan and includes:

  • Strategy development
  • Market-incentive analysis
  • Gas supply / demand analysis
  • City and private fleet conversion and procurement study
  • Site selection

IDOT is understood to be reviewing the Scope of Services letter associated with the grant decision and is expected to release its final decision by January 15, 2015.
