The Relocation of 1685 N. Throop Operations Project is intended to facilitate the development of multiple facilities to replace the City’s existing Department of Fleet and Facilities Management operations at 1685 North Throop Street.
The Chicago Infrastructure Trust, in coordination with the City of Chicago, was pleased to have lead the procurement of the Relocation of 1685 N. Throop Operations Project. The initiative will improve operations of the Chicago Department of Fleet and Facility Management (2FM) while spurring further economic development on Chicago’s South Side. The City has entered into a design-build agreement with AECOM Tachnical Services Inc. for the design and construction of the project to replace the City’s 2FM operations currently located at 1685 North Throop Street.
A Request for Proposals for the Relocation of 1685 N. Throop Operations Project (RFP) was issued on May 30th, 2017. Proposals in response to the RFP were received on July 19, 2017 (click here for list of respondents). AECOM Technical Services, Inc. was deemed the highest-ranked Respondent and advanced to the Design Development Phase for the delivery of the comprehensive 1685 N. Throop Operations Relocation Project. Upon successful completion of the Design Development Phase, the proposed project was introduced to Chicago City Council and gained Council approval January 2018.
